Frequently Asked Questions
Wallets & Connection
My wallet is not detected — what should I do?
Make sure the wallet browser extension is installed and enabled. Reload the CrowdTime page after installing. Some wallets require you to enable dApp access in the wallet settings.
The wallet connects but shows the wrong network.
Check the network selector in the CrowdTime header (Mainnet / Preprod) and make sure your wallet is set to the same network. Change either the app selector or the wallet network setting to match. If you are in the wrong network, you'll see a pop-up message in the CrowdTime application.
API Keys
Why do I need to add API keys?
CrowdTime executes trades on your behalf using your own exchange account. The API keys give CrowdTime permission to place orders, without ever being able to withdraw funds.
Are my API keys safe?
Yes. Keys are stored using AES-256-GCM encryption. They are never stored in plaintext and are never shared with third parties.
My API keys are showing as invalid.
Double-check that you copied both the API key and secret without any extra spaces. Ensure the key has the correct trading permissions enabled on the exchange. Some exchanges expire or invalidate keys after a period of inactivity — generate a new key if needed.
Bots & Trading
My bot is running but not placing any trades.
This is normal when the price has not moved enough to trigger the configured % Change. The bot evaluates conditions regularly and only trades when the threshold is met. Check the Executions page to see what price was evaluated on each cycle.
Can I run multiple bots at the same time?
Yes. Each bot is independent and can trade different pairs or use different strategies simultaneously. That said we strongly recommend not running more than 3-4 bots per exchange. Your API keys are rate limited by the exchange.
What happens to my open orders when I stop a bot?
The initial strategies trade using the market rate. As such, there are no open orders for now. When a bot is stopped, CrowdTime stops evaluating conditions and placing new market orders. Manage the outstanding balance directly in the exchange or DeFi protocol.
Payments & Subscriptions
How long does a subscription last?
The subscription period is shown in the payment dialog before you pay. You can see the expiration date on each bot card.
Can I get a refund if I delete a bot before it expires?
No — ADA subscription payments are non-refundable. The bot can be stopped at any point during the subscription period, if you wish to pause trading.
The payment went through but my bot is not active.
Wait for a couple of minutes. CrowdTime monitors the blockchain for your transaction and creates a bot automatically once confirmed. If the bot is still not created, raise a ticket via our Discord channel.
Strategies
Which strategy is best for beginners?
Simple Grid is a good starting point — it trades in both directions and works well in sideways markets. Start with a small volume and a % Change of 1–2%.
Can I change a bot's strategy after creating it?
Currently, the strategy is set at creation time. To use a different strategy, create a new bot with the desired settings and delete the old one when ready.
