Updating a Bot
You can update a bot's strategy, volume, and threshold at any time — whether the bot is running or stopped. Changes take effect immediately after confirmation.
What Can Be Updated
| Field | Editable | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Trading Strategy | Yes | Switch between Simple Grid, Buy the Dip, or Sell the Hill |
| Volume | Yes | The amount traded per cycle |
| Threshold (%) | Yes | The percentage price movement that triggers a trade |
| Exchange | No | Locked to the exchange the bot was created on |
| Trading Pair | No | Locked to the original pair |
Why are exchange and trading pair locked?
Changing the exchange or trading pair would effectively create a different bot — the existing trade history and price references would no longer be relevant. To trade a different pair, create a new bot.
How to Update a Bot
- Go to the Bots page or your Dashboard.
- Find the bot you want to edit.
- On desktop: click the edit icon (pencil) in the column to the left of the bot name.
- On mobile: tap the edit icon in the top-right area of the bot tile, between the PnL value and the delete button.
- The Edit Bot modal opens, pre-filled with the bot's current settings.
- Update any combination of strategy, volume, or threshold.
- Click Update Bot (Signature).
- Your Cardano wallet will prompt you to sign the update — this is a zero-cost cryptographic proof that confirms you own the wallet linked to this bot. No ADA is spent.
- Approve the signature in your wallet extension.
- The modal closes and your bot reflects the updated settings immediately.
WARNING
If you cancel the wallet signature prompt, the update will not be saved and the modal will show a "Update cancelled" message. You can retry or close the modal.
Troubleshooting
Signature prompt does not appear Make sure your Cardano wallet extension is installed and connected. If no wallet is connected, you will see an error message in the modal.
Update seems to have no effect If the bot is currently Running, it will apply the new settings on its next price check cycle (every 2 minutes). There is no need to restart the bot.
Modal shows an error after signing Close the modal and try again. If the problem persists, check your internet connection and that the bot still exists on your account.
